Cold rain fuels liveblogging
Liveblogging dinner is a bit lame on the content tip. I’ve done it before, so I know. But I feel inclined to do this tonight for three decent reasons.
1. It’s rainy and cold and it makes me want something warm.
2. I haven’t posted in a while.
3. Miso soup, while simple, is deceptively hard to make [...]
Good News. Bad News.
The Good News:
I got a 3.9 this quarter! It’s the best GPA I’ve ever had. I’m pretty proud of myself, and glad I sacrificed all those nights. I would’ve been pissed if I had no social life in exchange for mediocre grades.
And - I got into the Denmark program!
The Bad News:
I think I’m going to [...]
Debbie Downer
On my bus ride home I was feeling really bad for myself. I found myself listlessly staring out the window, mulling over how great it would feel to bitch about my life. I was so far down this pity-party path that I even had a couple witty sentences constructed in my mind. I was going [...]
Amuse thyself
Things are ass-crazy right now. I’m wrapping up the last week and a half of classes before finals, and feeling the stress. The little down time I have that hasn’t been devoted to eating salty, crunchy foods has been very carefully plotted around - guess this - Really Cool Stuff.
1. Gnarles Barkley “Run” video. Apparently [...]
Tomorrow is the due date. I’ve been pouring over my essay and investing more time into it than any of my papers combined. I was hesitant to mention anything, for fear of sad rejection and the subsequent online moping, but I figure if you guys can pool some positive thoughts for me I just might [...]
A photo post.
I’ll cut back on being wordy. I’m preserving it for my study abroad application and English paper due tomorrow. But since this weekend was pretty filled, I’ll post a little somethin somethin.
Enjoyed beautiful weather by going on a photowalk. Somehow ended up at Pike Place Market, where I bought the best artichoke known to man.
Got [...]
Rock out with your caucus out
For the first time I participated in a caucus today. Washington ran things a little different than other states. Each party, divided by precinct, got together and affiliated themselves in one of three camps: Obama, Clinton, or undecided. The ratio of votes determined how our designated delegates would represent our area. My precinct, 43-2549, had [...]
Interesting few days
Due to my ‘broke student status’ most of my days have been boring and uneventful. But this weekend - this was a doozy.
It started Thursday by being invited to a craft night of local cartoonist Tatiana Gill. I took some photos and so did she. Check out this shot she took of me so you [...]
28 going on 20
To commemorate my first week of school without offing myself in a dramatic, but maybe hilarious, manner, I bring you the summarization of impressions while attending UW as the Oldest Junior Ever:
The Good:
Women Studies is very fascinating and awesome and I’m sad I’ve never taken a class in the field before
The removal of self from [...]
In a perfect world…
I would work here. And it would be awesome.
