Due to my ‘broke student status’ most of my days have been boring and uneventful. But this weekend – this was a doozy.
It started Thursday by being invited to a craft night of local cartoonist Tatiana Gill. I took some photos and so did she. Check out this shot she took of me so you can see a sense of scale on her sculpies.
Next up was an exciting Friday seeing British electronic duo Plaid, local 8-bit IDM geniuses Truckasaurus, and Decibel founder Nordic Soul at Nectar.
Saturday was spent watching a lackluster USA v. Sweden international friendly (scrimmage) and learning Gunner songs by The Away Boyz. Some highlights include “Phone Up Your Arse” about Chelsea player (formerly of Arsenal fame) Ashley Cole, “Blue Judas Scum” and “Sweet Adebayor.” Needless to say, I’m so happy my friend picked up this CD when he was abroad last week.
So there you have it: definitely the most excitement I’ve seen in a while, and it should satiate me for a while. What did you all do this weekend?

I love that you posted the pic of you taking the sculpts….I didn’t think they would be that tiny! How wonderful they are (as are your pictures on Flickr).
I *must* know the lyrics to Phone Up Your Arse, I’m too curious…I wonder if I can find them online. Better! Found video!!
I spent the weekend taking care of my ‘rents. Since our trip back, they both haven’t really recovered, so I did some cooking, a little (bare minimum) cleaning, and a little sightseeing (ie surfing online).
The highlight of the weekend, however, was my photowalk in a rather exclusive area in East Hampton, where I found a sweet spot to take pictures of reeds, trees, and the moon. You must understand that this is a rather “protected” area, since alot of celebs live there. In any case, I was there, taking my nature pics, fretting about getting caught by some private security person thinking I was a paparazzo….when along comes a car, slows down and it’s: Alec Baldwin! He looks at me, waves and smiles. This could have been a very risky situation as he surely could have mistaken me for the aforementioned paparazzo and given me a “talking to.”
I don’t think today will bring much excitement as I have to prepare for the semester (which begins next Monday); as well as do some studying myself.
Well… my weekend can be summed up in two words: “Cylon luvin’”.. I spent the weekend going through a BSG marathon since i just downloaded the whole damned thing!
come over for movie night on monday!
