iPod of Muerte!

Because Ro did it, so should I. This here be my iPod of MUERTE! list. And because I love every damn song on it, here are the last 10 songs played:

1. “Wipe That Sound” by Mouse on Mars. Happy, upbeat electronic music for a perfect summer afternoon.

2. “In the Devil’s Territory” by Sufjan Stevens. I usually avoid singers who sing with religious undertones, but a man playing guitar is far too hot. Especially when he is pretty attractive.

3. “Public Pervert” by Interpol. Yes, they are a Joy Division rip-off, but I can think of worse bands to emulate. And bassist Carlos D. is hot. Is there a reoccuring theme here?

4. “Chango Limpia Mi Alma” by Otto Von Schirach. One of the breakcore masters. Not for the faint of heart. Breakcore is not for everyone. It’s fast, chaotic, full of samples and weirdness.

5. “Olsen Olsen” by Sigur Ros. Beautiful music. Enough said.

6. “Seen How Things Are Hard” by Elliott Smith. Usually albums released after an artists death are awful. New Moon is not one of these – It’s full of all kinds of gems, like this song.

7. “Sagaba” by Blue Scholars. I have to support local Seattle hip hop. Beautiful production with intelligent lyrics and a little hometown flavor.

8. “Botan Ricecore” by Mochipet. More breakcore out of Daly City. It’s a wonderful track full of movie samples and a throbbing drum & bass feel.

9. “Huggy’s Parade” by Matthew Dear. More electronic music/experimental pop. This time, not so chaotic, but more melodic with the delightful vocal stylings of this Detroit based producer.

10. “The Pig War” by Minus the Bear. More Seattle music, but more in the rock variety. Menos El Oso is a divine album all the way through. Get it.
